A dive into OpenStreetMap: presentation by M. Napolitano at GEM Foundation

Last Monday (March 12, 2018) Maurizio Napolitano, coordinator of the Digital Commons Lab of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, has been at the GEM Foundation (Global Earthquake Model) in Pavia for a presentation titling "A dive into OpenStreetMap". Here are the abstract, the slides, the video, and some pictures.

Abstract

OpenStreetMap is a collaborative project for the collection of open georeferenced data. The first output of OpenStreetMap is the map found on the http://openstreetmap.org website But the project offers much more. The workshop therefore wants to present itself as a "dip in openstreetmap" going over the map showing how, in reality, it is a large laboratory able to help policy makers, researchers, developers, civic hackers ... and much more. The workshop will focus on the technical, social and legal themes of the project.
